Harris Hartz is a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He was appointed by President George H.W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate in 1993. Prior to his appointment, Hartz worked as a practicing attorney for over 20 years in New Mexico and Colorado. He also served as the United States Attorney for New Mexico from 1981 to 1985. Hartz holds a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. He is known for his conservative judicial philosophy and has authored several notable opinions during his tenure on the court.
